Aleksandar Ivanov Rajchev
Aleksandar Iwanow Rajtschew ( Bulgarian Александър Иванов Райчев , scientific transliteration Aleksandăr Ivanov Rajčev, alternative transcription Alexander Raichev; ) (born April 11, 1922 in Lom ; † October 28, 2003 in Sofia ), was a Bulgarian composer .
Rajtschew studied from 1943 to 1947 at the National Music Academy of Sofia with Assen Karastojanow and Pantscho Wladigerow and was then until 1950 at the Conservatory of Budapest student of János Ferencsik and János Viski . From 1952 he taught as a lecturer and since 1962 as a professor of harmony at his old music academy in Sofia.
He composed four operas, one operetta , two ballets ( Heiduckenlied , premier Sofia 1953, and Die Quelle der Weißfüßigen , premier Sofia 1978), three symphonies , a violin and a piano concerto , chamber music works, a cantata , choral works, songs and drama and film music.
He was married to the actress Milena Atanasova ( National Theater "Ivan Wasow" , Sofia). His son, Alexander Raytchev , is a concert pianist and lives in Germany.
