The motor ship Cruise One was the first cruise ship to enter service for the British-Greek low- cost cruise line easyCruise . It was operated as easyCruise One .

history

The ship was originally built under the name Renaissance Two at the Cantiere Navale Ferrari SpA shipyard in La Spezia for the now insolvent Italian shipping company Renaissance Cruises and put into service in 1990. After the ship had changed registration and home port several times, it was renamed "The Neptune" in 1998 and used for gambling cruises in Southeast Asia.

In April 2004 it was sold to easyCruise and converted for the new purpose by a shipyard in Singapore . The passenger capacity was increased from around 100 to up to 186. As part of the renovation work, parts of the superstructure and the hull were also painted in the colors of the shipping company (original color: Pantone 021C) and labeled "easyCruise.com" on the flanks. The noticeable hull paintwork was later removed. From summer 2005 to 2008 the ship was used for cruises in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean .

In October 2008, was easyCruise One decommissioned, to the new owner Platinum Yacht Management LLC, based in Dubai sold under the name Cruise One in the local Port Rashid launched .

Mission concept

With the easyCruise One, the owner of the shipping company, Stelios Haji-Ioannou , implemented a concept for cruises in the low-price range , which was mainly aimed at a younger audience. The 74 double cabins, 7 four-bed cabins and the four balcony suites as well as the on-board facilities were very simple and functional. The cruise price only covered the trip and the cabin booked. Meals, drinks and other services were charged separately. The crew of the easyCruise One was provided by the ship management service provider V-Ships .

The concept stipulated that the easyCruise One was at sea during the day, calling at ports in the afternoon to spend the night on site before continuing the voyage in the early morning.
