Adrian Lee Watt (born December 29, 1947 in Omaha ) is a retired American ski jumper .

Career

Watt made his international debut at the Four Hills Tournament in 1966/67 . After a rather poor performance in the first three competitions, he achieved the best individual tour result of his career in the final competition on the Paul-Ausserleitner-Schanze in Bischofshofen , finishing ninth. At the end of the tour he improved to 38th place overall, which was also the best result of his entire career.

In the following Four Hills Tournament in 1967/68 he only jumped three of the four competitions and achieved the highest ranking of the tour with 32nd place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . In the overall standings he reached rank 48. A little later he won the US Olympic Trials at Pine Mountain Jump in Iron Mountain , where he set a new hill record with 103 meters. At the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble , he missed the leap into the top of the world and only reached 44th place on the normal hill.

At the 1969 US Championships on Harris Hill in Brattleboro Watt won his first and only national title in jumping from the normal hill. He then started again internationally at the Four Hills Tournament 1969/70 . However, after weak individual performances, he did not get above rank 60 in the overall ranking.

After the end of his active ski jumping career, Watt remained loyal to the sport. He was a volunteer at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and helped prepare the cross-country ski trails for competitions.
