Adrian Wolf

Adrian Wolf (born June 24, 1949 in Hamburg , full name Adrian Facklam-Wolf ) is a German singer, lyricist and publisher.

Life

His clear voice was already noticed in childhood. At the age of ten, Adrian Wolf became a member of the boys' choir of the Norddeutscher Rundfunk, which mainly interpreted sacred music. As part of this singing community, he took part in the TV adaptation of the Puccini opera La Bohème in 1960.

In 1961 he was hired to sing a recitative in the children's radio play Lehman , then appeared in the children's opera Hansel and Gretel at the Hamburg State Opera , became acquainted with contemporary compositions and gradually decided to become a singer. After his voice broke, Adrian Wolf became a member of the Hamburg Young Men Choir, a 15-man association that sang mainly spiritual and modern, six-part and multi-part choral settings.

Wolf, himself the son of a detective, completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk after leaving school and worked for a year in the legal department of an international company. Later he deepened his knowledge at the Hamburg University of Economics and Politics .

At the end of the 1960s he came to hit music through a well-known Hamburg music publisher. His first single, Che sarà , brought him the desired success. In addition to the obligatory engagements as a pop singer, Adrian Wolf was also used to record radio productions. TV viewers could u. a. Experience in the turntable , the show booth and music from Studio B. He took part in the international hit festival in Belgrade and won a hit competition in Linz (Musica 1973) , which took place under the patronage of the then Austrian Chancellor Bruno Kreisky .

He also made a name for himself as a copywriter under the pseudonym Thore Holgerson . a. for Linda Morales , Ilse Werner and the Swede Siw Inger . The latter was able to achieve its biggest commercial hit in Germany with the San Diego Train, which was written by Wolf .

Adrian Wolf was also able to publish three singles in the local language in the neighboring Netherlands before he ended his career as a pop singer in 1978. After working for the peer music publishing company for ten years, he took on the role of Managing Director at MCA Music Publishing in 1988. After the Polygram / Seagram merger in 1998, he was the head of the newly created company afw-music publishing & consulting , which promotes innovative interpreters, composers and copywriters.

Participation in the German ESC preliminary decision

In 1972 Adrian Wolf took on Ralph Siegel jr. composed and texted by Fred Weyrich romantic ballad My present to you in the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest . The program took place under the title A Song for Edinburgh on February 19 in Berlin. The contribution could not convince the jurors and landed at the bottom in 12th place, but was still released on record.
