Adriano Corte-Real

Adriano Corte-Real (* 1946 ) is an East Timorese politician from Holarua ( Manufahi municipality ). He is a member of FRETILIN .

Career

In 1975, Corte-Real became vice secretary of the FRETILIN regional committee in Manufahi . During the occupation he was detained and tortured for several days by Indonesian security forces in 1998 .

Corte-Real took over the post of State Secretary for Region II ( Manatuto , Manufahi , Ainaro ) from Virgílio Simith when the Second East Timor government took office on July 14, 2006 . Even under the next Prime Minister Estanislau da Silva , Corte-Real retained this position. After the regular elections in 2007 , Corte-Real resigned from office on August 8, 2007 when the fourth government took office.

Currently (as of 2019) Corte-Real is President of the "National Manufahi Consortium".
