Adriano Faria Pimenta (born November 14, 1982 in Goiânia ) is a Brazilian soccer player .
Life
The attacking midfielder began his career in the youth team of Guarani FC . In the 2000/01 season he moved to the Japanese club Nagoya Grampus Eight . After a season in Japan he returned to Guarani FC, but was still just a substitute player. Therefore, he moved to the Swiss Super League for FC Thun in the 2005/06 season and signed a contract until June 2008. Here he made the leap into the regular team and became one of the top performers in Thun. In the team, he took on the role of midfield director who steered the game of Thun.
In the away game for the Champions League qualification against Malmö FF , Adriano scored the decisive 1-0. This goal laid the foundation for the successful Champions League qualification of Thun. Adriano was used in all 6 group games and in the home game against Ajax Amsterdam he scored 2-2. After the group stage, FC Thun took 3rd place and was therefore eligible to play for the UEFA Cup . There Adriano was used in both games against Hamburger SV and scored the winning goal at home to make it 1-0. However, due to the 2-0 defeat in the second leg, FC Thun was eliminated from the UEFA Cup.
In January 2007 Adriano was loaned to the Japanese club Yokohama FC and played there until January 2008. He returned for a month to FC Thun, but then moved to the Brazilian CA Bragantino .
