Brazil met Scotland, Morocco and Norway in the group. After two wins against Scotland and Morocco, they lost 2-1 to Norway. In the second round, Selecao defeated Chile 4-1. The Brazilians played in the semi-finals against the Netherlands via Denmark, which was beaten 3-2 in the quarter-finals. In the final there was a bitter 3-0 defeat against organizer France.
