Adrien Moerman (born August 7,  1988 in Fontenay-aux-Roses ) is a French basketball player .

career

Moerman was trained from the age of 15 in the youth training center of Chorale Roanne Basket  . In the 2005/06 season he received his first appearances in the Ligue Nationale de Basket , the first division in France. In 2007 he moved to JSF Nanterre in the second division for a year to gain experience . There he was named Player of the Year in the 2007/08 season. In 2008 he signed with Entente Orléans 45 and returned with this change in the top division. In Orléans he became an integral part of the regular team, after moving to SLUC Nancy Basket  in 2011 he reached the next level of development and after a year in Nancy ventured abroad when he went to the Spanish first division club Bilbao Basket . In Spain Moerman did not have the same status as before in Nancy and averaged six points per encounter in Bilbao.

He stayed in Spain for a year, then returned to France before the 2013-14 season and joined Limoges CSP . He was promoted to team captain in Limoges and, as a high performer, made a significant contribution to winning the French championship titles in 2014 and 2015. In the 2014/15 season, which recorded an average of 14.6 points and 8.7 rebounds, he was named the best player in the league.

Moerman, who was nicknamed "Super Momo", took a second attempt to assert himself abroad and in summer 2015 accepted an offer from the Turkish first division club Banvit Basketbol . In Banvit he impressed during the main round of the 2015/16 season with averages of 18 points and 10.1 rebounds per match and was named Player of the Year in the Turkish League by the basketball news provider eurobasket.com . Moerman stayed in Turkey, but changed clubs in the run-up to the 2016/17 game year and went  on basketball for Darüşşafaka SK Istanbul for a year . He also competed with the team in the Euroleague , after having already gained experience in the most important European club competition with Orléans, Nancy and Limoges.

The Frenchman played for FC Barcelona in Spain in the 2017/18 season and won the national cup competition with the team. During the summer break of 2018, the winger signed a contract with Turkish top club Efes Istanbul . With an average of 12 points, Moerman contributed to reaching the final in the 2018/19 Euroleague, which he lost with Efes to CSKA Moscow .

National team

In 2004 and 2006 Moerman won the U16 and U18 European championships with the French youth national teams. As the best thrower of the French team, he contributed 14.1 points per encounter to the European Championship gold in 2004. When he won the 2006 title, he was also the best French scorer with 14.8 points per game. With the U19 selection, he won the bronze medal at the 2007 World Cup. With the men's national team, he took part in the elimination tournament for the 2016 Summer Olympics, which he won with France, but was then no longer in the squad for the 2016 Olympics.
