Television's second album received positive reviews, but failed to match the exuberant reviews of the debut album Marquee Moon . Mark Deming from Allmusic Adventure rates a “great record” on every scale, but not a masterpiece (“It's not quite a masterpiece, but it's a brilliant record by any yardstick.”). While Marquee Moon is represented in many leaderboards today, the successor was denied.
