Aenne Ohnesorg

Aenne Ohnesorg (* 1949 in Munich ) is a German building researcher .

After graduating from high school in Munich, Aenne Ohnesorg studied architecture at the TU Munich and the TH Karlsruhe from 1968 to 1974 . Already during her studies she began to be interested in ancient building history under the influence of Gottfried Gruben and since 1972 she has regularly participated in excavations in Greece. Here she was involved in the research in the Heraion of Samos and especially on the archaic architecture on Paros and Naxos . In 1976/77 she received a travel grant from the German Archaeological Institute . In 1978/79 she cataloged the “small marble simes ” from the Athens Acropolis , in 1982/83 she worked part-time at the Technical University of Munich. From 1984 to 1989 she was a temporary academic advisor at the Chair of Building History at the Technical University of Munich, where she received her doctorate in 1989 and worked as a senior engineer from 1990 to 1994. From 1996 to 2006 she worked on the Artemision of Ephesus on behalf of the Austrian Archaeological Institute . In 2002, she completed her habilitation on Ionic monumental altars at the Technical University of Munich, where she subsequently held teaching positions until 2005.

Ohnesorg's main research area is the archaic architecture of the Cyclades , in particular roof terracottas and marble roofs. She is a corresponding member of the German Archaeological Institute .
