Aeonium aureum is a plant from the genus of aeonium and belongs to the family of Crassulaceae (Crassulaceae).

Leaf rosette from above

The succulent plant reaches heights of between 30 and 45 centimeters. The leaf rosette is between 8 and 15 centimeters wide and always has daughter rosettes. The rosette is formed by fleshy, spatula or wedge-shaped leaves that are drawn in or pointed at the end. These are 4 to 10 centimeters long, are gray-green with reddish or blue-green tones. In contrast to Aeonium diplocyclum, the leaf margins have no eyelashes. The flower stem, at the end of which numerous yellow flowers develop, also has flaky leaves. The flower consists of 28 to 32 petals .

Occurrence

Aeonium aureum only grows in the Canary Islands , with the exception of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura . Rock walls and roofs are preferred as locations. It occurs at altitudes up to 2000 meters.
