Aeonium ciliatum is a species of the genus Aeonium inthe thick-leaf family (Crassulaceae). The specific epithet ciliatum comes from Latin , means 'eyelash' and refers to the eyelashes along the edges of the leaf.

Vegetative characteristics
Aeonium ciliatum forms perennial and poorly branched subshrubs that reach heights of up to 1 meter. The ascending shoots reach a diameter of 5 to 20 millimeters. They are bare and reticulate. The rather flattened rosettes have a diameter of 8 to 20 centimeters. The dark green to yellowish green, bluish tinged, obovate-spatulate leaves are pointed towards their tips and narrowed or wedge-shaped at the base. Your leaf blade is 4 to 12 inches long, 2 to 5 inches wide and 4 to 8 millimeters thick. It is bald and is sometimes slightly folded lengthways near the tip. The edge of the leaf is covered with straight or slightly curved eyelashes 0.4 to 0.8 millimeters in length.
Inflorescences and flowers
The dome-shaped inflorescence is 15 to 40 centimeters high and 10 to 35 centimeters wide. The inflorescence stalk is 5 to 20 inches long. The seven to nine-fold flowers are on slightly downy-haired pedicels 2 to 4 millimeters in length. Your sepals are weakly downy hairy. The whitish, lanceolate, pointed petals , often greenish on the underside, are 7 to 10 millimeters long and 1.2 to 2 millimeters wide. The stamens are sparsely hairy and weakly downy.
Chromosome number
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 36.
Systematics and distribution
Aeonium ciliatum is widespread in the north of the Canary Island of Tenerife at altitudes of 200 to 1000 meters.
The first description by Philip Barker Webb and Sabin Berthelot was published in 1841. Aeonium ciliatum Willd is a synonym . (1809, nom. Illeg. ICBN -Article 53.1).
Aeonium ciliatum can easily be confused with Aeonium davidbramwellii .
