Aeonium spathulatum is a species of the genus Aeonium and belongs to the family of thick-leaf plants (Crassulaceae).

description

The strongly branched subshrub reaches a height of between 20 and 65 centimeters. Except for the youngest leaves, the leaves are shed in summer. The leaves are between 1 and 3 inches long and are ice-spat and more or less flat. They are finely haired and a bit sticky. There are translucent eyelashes on the edge of the sheet. The underside of the leaf shows first green, later brown, sunken elongated glands. The flower consists of 8 to 10 golden yellow petals .

Flowering time is from March to June.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 36.

Occurrence

Aeonium spathulatum only grows in the Canary Islands , with the exception of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura . Wall and rock crevices are preferred as locations, especially in the pine forest level , at altitudes of 800 to 2000 meters.
