Affiance is an American metalcore band from Cleveland , Ohio .
history
Foundation and No Secrets Revealed (2007-2012)
Affiance was founded in 2007 and released their first EP Calm Before the Storm a year later . They were then signed by the music label Bullet Tooth Records to release their debut album. This was released on December 2, 2010 under the name No Secrets Revealed . In particular, the humorous music video for Call to the Warrior , in which Affiance Rock Band plays, achieved great popularity with over a million views on YouTube.
The Campaign and Blackout (2012 – present)
On November 13, 2012, the band released their second album The Campaign . For the album, the band worked with August Burns Red bassist Dustin Davidson and Memphis May Fire singer Matty Mullins, among others .
In February and March 2013, Affiance went on a US tour. Originally, Glamor of the Kill was announced as a guest band, but they had to cancel their participation shortly before the first concert and so Affiance played the tour alone. Also for the following month tours were announced as appearances in the UK with Dance Gavin Dance , Closure in Moscow and Violet and a summer tour as support of Killswitch Engage , As I Lay Dying and Miss May I .
The band spent 2014 working on their third studio album, called Blackout , which was released on September 23, 2014. The first single from the new album is called Limitless and was released on June 28th via Bullet Tooth Records. Two more songs, Monuments Fail and Fire! appeared in advance. To Fire! An elaborate music video was shot in which a lot of pyrotechnics are used and the band is on fire, among other things.
After several tours in the cycle of their last album, Affiance split from their label Bullet Tooth Records. On Halloween 2015, Affiance announced that they would record a new EP on their own and would like to finance it via the crowdfunding website Indiegogo . The EP with the title Gaia was released on March 11th, 2016. The style of the EP is particularly characterized by the fact that singer Tvrdik screams a lot more than on previous albums.
style
Affiance mixes Metalcore with Power Metal , which is particularly evident in the clear and high-pitched vocals of the singer, which can be heard almost exclusively. The band also uses well-known voice recordings in their songs, such as E.g. Walter Cronkite's announcement on television of John F. Kennedy's murder in Kings of Deceit .
