Agatha Raisin is a British television series based on the crime fiction series of the same name by MC Beaton . The first novel Agatha Raisin and the dead judge was filmed in a feature length in 2014 for the Sky 1 Christmas program .
background
After the pilot, eight other books were out of order as a series with 45-minute episodes by 2016 and aired in the UK in June and July . In Germany, the pilot film and the eight individual episodes were broadcast on ZDFneo from February 2017 .
Acorn TV commissioned a second season for 2018. It consists of three book adaptations, which were implemented as double episodes or 90-minute feature films and were broadcast for the first time in late 2018 / early 2019. Four more episodes of feature films were made in 2019 and broadcast in England in October of the same year.
The main character Agatha Raisin is portrayed by the Scottish actress Ashley Jensen .
In 2004, an audio book adaptation of the Beaton novels was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 .
