Agave albomarginata is a plant from the genus of the Agave ( agave ). An English common name is "Huntington Cultivar Agave".
description
Agave albomarginata grows individually and forms offshoots. The gray to green, linear to lancet-shaped, variably arranged leaves are 100 to 125 cm long, 4 cm wide at the base and 2.5 cm wide in the middle. The horny, white leaf margins are serrated irregularly. The gray end spine is 1.5 cm long.
The year-old, slender, inflorescence is 4 to 6 m high. The green to yellow colored, paired flowers are 35 to 40 mm long. The openly spread out flower tube is 4 to 5 mm long.
The capsule fruits and seeds are unknown.
Systematics and distribution
The first description by Howard Scott Gentry was published in 1982.
Agave albomarginata is a representative of the Marginatae section . The species is cultivated in the Huntington Botanic Garden . It is closely related to Agave lechuguilla , but more diverse in morphological characteristics.
