description

Agave inaequidens grows as a single, openly spreading rosette with a short stem. The thick-fleshed, variably shaped leaves are broad or narrow lanceolate to inverted lanceolate, ascending to outwardly curved. Its top is mainly concave towards the rounded base. The leaves are light green to yellow-green and only rarely slightly glaucous . They are usually 75 to 150 centimeters long and 11 to 21 centimeters wide. The leaf margins are wavy or notched. The maroon to dark brown marginal teeth are either straight or curved differently, with the flattened base being longer than the teeth are high. The peripheral teeth are 8 to 10 millimeters long and are 2.5 to 4 centimeters apart. The dark brown, strong end thorn is 2.5 to 5.5 centimeters long.

The 5 to 8 meter high inflorescence is paniculate and narrow. The shaft is short. The 30 to 50 compact partial inflorescences are located in the upper half of the inflorescence. The individual flowers are 6 to 7 inches long. Your tepals are initially reddish purple. When open, they are yellow. They have uneven reddish tips 25 to 30 (rarely 34) millimeters in length. The flower tube is 5 to 12 (rarely 15) millimeters long.
