Agim Shabani (born February 14, 1988 in the SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Kosovar football player who is under contract with Moss FK .

Career

Shabani, who was born in Kosovo, fled to Sweden with his family before they moved on to Norway. Shabani started playing football in the youth team at Trosvik IF before moving to the youth division at Fredrikstad FK. The defender played his first game in the first team on the occasion of the 2006 cup final against Sandefjord Fotball , which ended with a 3-0 win.

In June 2007, Shabani gained international attention when he was expelled three times in four days. First he saw the red card for a goal robbery on June 24th in the Tippeligaen game at Strømsgodset IF . A day later he was expelled from a game with the second team for handball within the penalty area of the field and on June 27, he saw the yellow-red card in the cup match at third division team Nybergsund IL for repeated foul play.

Shabani was initially mainly on the bench at Fredrikstad FK or was used in the club's second team. After he had not come to the first division in the 2008 season , coach Anders Grönhagen put him in the starting line-up at the beginning of the following season. In March 2009 he was appointed to the Norwegian U-21 team, but was not used in the 5-0 defeat by the English junior national team. On the fourth matchday of the 2009 season in April of that year he injured his knee seriously in the game against reigning champions Stabæk Fotball . At the end of the season, the club relegated to the second-rate Adeccoligaen , in which coach Tom Freddy Aune played irregularly.

In January 2011 Shabani left the Fredrikstad FK, which was promoted back to the first division at the end of the 2010 season, and joined Moss FK . When relegated to the second division, he signed a two-year contract.
