Princess Agnes of Württemberg , married. Pauline Louise Agnes Princess of Reuss Younger Line (born October 13, 1835 in Bad Carlsruhe , † July 10, 1886 at Osterstein Castle near Gera ) was a member of the German aristocracy. She also worked as a writer under the pseudonym Angelica Hohenstein .

Life

Agnes von Württemberg was born as the daughter of Duke Eugen von Württemberg , a famous general of the Wars of Liberation , and Princess Helene zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg at Carlsruhe Castle. On February 6, 1858, she married the reigning Prince Heinrich XIV. Von Reuss younger line in Carlsruhe , the couple had two children:

  1. Heinrich XXVII. (1858-1928); ∞ (November 11, 1884 in Langenburg) Princess Elise zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg (born September 4, 1864 in Langenburg; † March 18, 1929 in Gera)
  2. Elisabeth (born October 27, 1859 in Gera; † February 23, 1951 at Hungen Castle); ∞ (November 17, 1887 in Gera) Hermann zu Solms-Braunfels (1845–1900).

Agnes von Württemberg founded numerous foundations and institutes that bore her name, for example the Agnes School, a training institute for female servants in Gera.

She is buried in the princely crypt of the St. Marien mountain church in Schleiz.
