Project Zero is a single-seater electric aircraft with tilting propellers from the Italian manufacturer AgustaWestland presented at the 2013 Paris Air Show .

The convertible aircraft , which is equipped with tiltable ducted propellers , can take off and land vertically using battery power only . In addition to the electric drive, a hybrid drive consisting of a diesel and an electric motor was also developed. The aircraft is made of carbon fiber reinforced plastics and has no hydraulics whatsoever. As the company announced at the Heli-Expo 2013 in Las Vegas, the futuristic aircraft flew for the first time in June 2011. The outer wings can be removed for missions that are mainly carried out in helicopter mode.

The development was a Skunk works project in collaboration with SELEX Galileo ; the patent is held by James Wang, Vice President of Research and Development at AugustaWestland. In June 2014, the project received the Achievement Award from the American Helicopter Museum and Education Center .
