Ahasuerus von Brandt (October 1580 - March 1, 1654 ) was a Prussian statesman .

family

Brandt was a son of Hans von Brandt auf Ludwigsdorf and Anna, born von Rosenhagen from the Schönfeld family, widowed Christoph von Schöneich, who was court master in 1605 and widowed again, entered into a third marriage with Ludwig von Karioth auf Korben. He was the heir to the Prussian estates of Rögitten, Ludwigsdorf , Jäschkendorf, Arnau and Köwe. He was married to Helena von Prock from the House of Saalau-Regitten (1594–1647). With her he had the son Achatius von Brandt, Lord of Regitten, Rossen, Sonnenstuhl, Gerlauchsdorf and Hammersdorf, Prussian lieutenant colonel and chamberlain . The daughter Katarina (1634–1651) was married to Hofrat Hans Dietrich von Tettau .

Career

Brandt became district administrator and captain zu Sehesten in 1619 . In 1621 he was captain of Tapiau . He was promoted to senior marshal in the Duchy of Prussia in 1632 and to senior councilor and regimental councilor on June 1, 1641 .

The poet Simon Dach wrote a funeral poem for Ahasuerus von Brandt in 1654.
