Proeck even Preuck , Preuk or Pröck , is the name of an old Prussian noble family .

history

From the family on March 3, 1321 was Heyne man Proyke of Landmeister Friedrich von Wildenberg with Saalau invested . Originally the family is said to have come from the canton of Schaffhausen in Switzerland to Prussia and from there to Anhalt . As early as the 14th century, the family appeared in three tribes, was able to occupy influential offices in Anhalt in the following years and was wealthy in the Duchy of Prussia .

Rüdiger von Proeck was the Polish governor in Thorn in 1434 and granted the state of Prussia important privileges from King Casimir IV . With Wilhelm von Proeck (1585-1654), the Proeck settled in Plötzkau , his son Ernst Gottlieb von Proeck († 1694) was then a Privy Councilor , Chamber President in Meinigen and Oberhofmarschall in Eisenach .

The natural children of the Prussian major Ernst von Proeck and Anne Christina Heinrich received the Prussian nobility recognition on November 19, 1798 and July 9, 1805, with the settlement of their father's name and coat of arms. Branches of this line persist to this day.

The Prek ( Prek, von Preck h. Borek ), which flourished in Ruthenia or Galicia until at least 1855 , and Prekier ( Prekier h. Borek ) in Lithuania , who provided proof of nobility in Russia in 1842 , are derived agnatically from the Proeck.

The Proeck are related to the coat of arms, or even related to the Pomeranian Borek, and carry with them a co-operative coat of arms of the Szlachta .

The family coat of arms shows a flaming black fire basket with a bracket in silver . On the helmet with black, red and silver covers, the fire basket.
