history
The place became known together with its neighboring towns of Stębark (Tannenberg) and Grunwald (Green Field) through the battle of Tannenberg in 1410.
Due to the provisions of the Versailles Treaty , the population in the Allenstein voting area , to which Ludwigsdorf belonged, voted on July 11, 1920 on whether it would continue to belong to East Prussia (and thus to Germany) or join Poland. In Ludwigsdorf 140 people voted to remain with East Prussia, Poland did not receive any votes.
