Ahipara is a community in the Far North District in the Northland regionin the north of New Zealand's North Island .
geography
The place is at the south end of Ninety Mile Beach . In the west is the Tauroa Peninsula and in the east the Herekino Forest . Bay Ahipara Bay limited place in the Northwest. Kaitaia is 14 km by road to the northeast. Halfway there is Pukepoto .
The Shipwreck Bay on the southern tip of Ahipara Bay has several visible at low tide shipwrecks.
population
The population of the place increased slightly compared to the census in 2001 with 1077 inhabitants and 2006 with 1170 inhabitants in 2013 with 1137 inhabitants.
education
There is a Primary School in Ahipara , where eight grades are taught. In 2008, 241 children attended this school. It was founded as a mission school in 1872 and moved to its present location in 1901.
