Ahmet Alibašić

Ahmet Alibašić (born 1971 in Prnjavor ( Kalesija )) is a personality of Islam in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in Europe . He is the director of the Bosnia and Herzegovina branch of the US-Muslim think tank International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) .

Life

He attended Gazi-Husrev-Beg-Medresa , Sarajevo , and obtained a diploma in Arabic from the Institute of Arabic Studies , King Saud University in Riyadh , Saudi Arabia . He earned a PhD from Sarajevo University , an MA in Islamic Civilization from the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization (ISTAC) in Malaysia, and two BAs, one in Fiqh and Usūl al-fiqh , and the other in Political Science from International Islamic University Malaysia .

He is one of the signatories of the Amman Message ( Amman Message ). He is a member of the European Muslim Network (EMN).

According to the website of the Islamic Community of Bosniaks in Germany (IGBD) he is considered "one of the leading analysts for the Middle East".

He is one of the editors of the Yearbook of Muslims in Europe , a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Muslims in Europe and is the author of various writings on Islam. He translates many texts into Bosnian , including the Catholic Islamic scholar John Esposito .

He teaches as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Islamic Studies in Sarajevo . He is also chairman of the Center for Advanced Studies based in Sarajevo.
