Ahmet Hadžipašić

Ahmet Hadžipašić (born June 1, 1952 in Cazin , † July 23, 2008 in Zenica ) was a politician in Bosnia and Herzegovina . From February 14, 2003 to March 2007 he was head of government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and belonged to the Democratic Action Party ( Stranka Demokratske Akcije ).

After studying metallurgy in Zenica and Sarajevo , he began his professional career with a metallurgy company in Zenica, the former center of metal extraction in the former Yugoslavia, and was appointed director of the company in 1993. He received his doctorate in 1990 and a few years later became a full professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Zenica, which was then part of the University of Sarajevo, and at the Technical Faculty of the University of Bihać . In 2003 he was elected by the Federation Parliament for a four-year term. During this time, one of his most important activities was the sale of the majority of the shares in BH Steel (part of the former state combine Željezara Zenica ) to Mittal Steel Company in 2004 .

Ahmet Hadžipašić was married and had three daughters. He died of a heart attack on July 23, 2008 at the age of 56.
