The Ahrbach , also called Mühlenbach in the lower reaches , is a 7.3 km long orographically left tributary of the Middle Rhine in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The Ahrbach rises in the Hunsrück south of Hünenfeld at an altitude of 364  m above sea level. NN . It flows primarily in northeastern directions. From the mouth of the Lendersbach , the creek is called Mühlenbach . After flowing through Rhens it empties at 69  m above sea level. NN in the Rhine .

On its 7.3 km long path, the stream overcomes a height difference of about 295 m, which corresponds to a mean bed gradient of 40.4 ‰. It drains a 9.587 km catchment area across the Rhine to the North Sea .

Water condition

In the upper reaches, the structural quality of the Ahrbach's water body is mainly given as moderately changed. However, some sections of the upper reaches also show clearly changed structures. Short sections were classified as slightly changed. In the lower reaches, the water structure deteriorates significantly and is mainly given as clearly to strongly changed. In the local area of ​​Rhens, the structural quality is given as very much to completely changed. The water quality is indicated for the lower reaches as unpolluted.
