At 374 m, the Ahrensberg is the highest mountain in the Sackwald in the Hildesheim district , Lower Saxony ( Germany ).

The heavily forested Ahrensberg rises in the Leinebergland , part of the Lower Saxon mountainous region . It is located in the Sackwald , which lies between Alfeld an der Leine in the northwest and Bad Gandersheim, a little further away, in the southeast. Within this forest area, it rises southwest of Woltershausen and northeast of Everode .

Watershed

The Ahrensberg lies on the watershed between Leine in the west and Innerste in the north. The water of all flowing waters that flow from its flanks to the west flows over the small Meierbach into the Leine, the water of the brooks flowing to the east and northeast flows into the innermost over Riehe and Lamme .
