Ainsley Harriott
Ainsley Harriott (born February 28, 1957 in Balham , London , England ) is an English chef . He is best known as the moderator of the English version of the cooking duel Ready, Steady, Cook . He is of Jamaican descent and the son of pianist and actor Chester Harriott .
Career
At sixteen he trained in an East End restaurant , where he later worked as an assistant cook. He was not only talented in cooking, but also in comedy and singing . Harriott formed the Calypso Twins with Paul Boross and also released a record called World Party in the 90s . They also appeared frequently in comedy clubs such as The Comedy Store, London and Jongleurs , and they had even made a name for themselves in the USA . They also became known through various television and radio appearances. Meanwhile, Ainsley worked again as a cook and rose to head chef in the Long Room of the Lord's Cricket Grounds when he received a moderation request for the radio show More Nosh, Less Dosh .
He began his television career as a chef on Good Morning with Anne and Nick , and later hosted the cooking game shows Can't Cook, Won't Cook and Ready, Steady, Cook . He's also had success with his cooking shows Ainsley's Barbecue Bible , Ainsley's Meals in Minutes , Ainsley's Big Cook Out and Ainsley's Gourmet Express .
In 2000, Harriott made his television debut with The Ainsley Harriott Show on WNBC in New York City . It lasted 100 episodes before being canceled for lack of audience ratings . Then he moderated Ready… Set… Cook! , the American version of Ready, Steady, Cook .
Harriott also had a guest role in the British science fiction series Red Dwarf and has appeared in various commercials .
Harriott was also President of the Television and Radio Industries Club (TRIC) from 2004 to 2005 , during which time he hosted their awards ceremony. The TRIC honors successes in radio and television .
He gained additional fame by using a press clipping himself in the background of the videos of the well-known Youtubers PewDiePie . Also, his humor has made him an internet meme .
