Air Marshall Islands is the flag carrier of the Marshall Islands , based in Majuro and based at Marshall Islands Airport .
history
The company was founded in 1980 under the name Airline of the Marshall Islands . At the beginning in 1980 the company owned two GAF Nomad . This could only serve short distances within the national territory. Only after purchasing the Hawker-Siddeley HS 748 was it possible to fly to the neighboring states of Kiribati , Tuvalu and Fiji .
At the beginning of 1992 the company was renamed Air Marshall Islands . She rented in January 1992, a Douglas DC-8-62CF of Arrow Air , which until October 1996 wetlease on passenger and cargo flights between Majuro and Honolulu was used.
