action
13-year-old Nicole is the daughter of wealthy entrepreneur Raymond Stone. She is at odds with her parents, from the parents' point of view because of school achievements, from the daughter's point of view because she feels neglected by her parents. When she was on her father's private plane, lightning struck the plane and the explosion tore a hole in the cabin wall. The two pilots Greg and Terry are immediately electrocuted and passed out. The two other adult fellow travelers, employees of her father, are injured by a large first aid kit flying around and passed out as a result of this and the negative pressure. Nicole had played around with the first aid kit, so it wasn't attached; but because of that she happened to have an oxygen mask over her face and the corresponding oxygen bottle with her and after a short time she regained consciousness. The woman flying with you also wakes up again briefly, but not for a long time, so that Nicole is on her own again.
The autopilot was activated, but is defective and cannot be deactivated. Initially, Nicole had contact with the air traffic controller Jeff in the tower via the radio and, after it failed, via a mobile phone. The first rescue attempt by means of a tanker is started because tanker pilots are trained to approach other aircraft. However, this fails due to turbulence.
Then - Jeff's plan - the tanker flies under the private jet, Nicole drags the unconscious adults to the hatch at the front wheel. Three of the four adults manage to abseil down. In the event of further turbulence, however, the connection cable breaks and the man who received it is torn from the aircraft, but can save himself with the parachute.
Nicole and the still unconscious fourth adult are still on board the plane. There is no other option but for her to land the plane. First, she deactivates the autopilot using her father's favorite baseball bat. Then she lands the plane under Jeff's guidance. Although the cell phone battery runs out during the approach, she succeeds.
