The AGH Scientific and Technical University (Polish: Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza im. Stanisława Staszica w Krakowie = Academy of Mining and Metallurgy " Stanisław Staszic " in Krakow) - AGH for short - is the largest technical university and is considered one of the best universities in Poland , in the city of Krakow with 29,935 students and 1,921 academic staff.

The AGH Scientific and Technical University was founded in 1919 and the main building was erected in Czarna Wieś in 1923-1935 . Today the university has 15 faculties. The rector of the university is Tadeusz Słomka.
