Technical University of Poznan

The Technical University of Poznan ( Polish : Politechnika Poznańska ) is a technical university in the Polish city of Poznan with around 21,000 students and 2,000 academic employees (2005).

The university is a member of the Conference of European Schools of Higher Education and Research ( CESAER ), the leading engineering universities in Europe.

The current rector of the university is Tomasz Łodygowski (2013).

The Technical University of Poznan was founded in 1919 as the Wyższa Szkoła Budowy Maszyn (Mechanical Engineering School) and after an expansion to include further faculties, it was renamed Wyższa Szkoła Budowy Maszyn i Elektrotechniki (Mechanical and Electrical Engineering University ) in the mid-1920s . Today it comprises nine faculties.
