history
The ADK Bayern emerged from the Regensburg drama school founded in 2001. It offers a degree to become a state-certified actor, director or theater teacher. Training in the field of acting is equivalent to a university education . The academy has its own theater with 99 seats.
There are cooperations with the Regensburg Theater , the Upper Palatinate State Theater and the Lower Bavaria State Theater . The academy is located at Kreuzgasse 5, between the Theater am Bismarckplatz and the Velodrome of the Regensburg Theater.
Legal status and leadership
The ADK is a specialist academy and as such it is state-approved as a substitute school by the government of the Upper Palatinate, BAföG-approved and the four-year full-time education leads to a state qualification. However, it is not a university, which means that it is legally regarded as a regular school and thus follows the Bavarian school holidays, for example, instead of the semester structure of the universities.
The academy is led by the academy director, who has a permanent deputy. There are also director of studies for acting, theater education and directing. The line for direction z. B. has been taken over by Nurkan Erpulat since 2019 .
Education
All courses take 4 years to complete. There are courses in acting, directing and theater education. In the first year, all courses together form one class; from the second year onwards, the fields of directing and theater education study separately from acting, but are in contact with the field of acting through directing projects, for example.
