Akron is a statutory town in the northeastern part of the US state Colorado - about 180 km northeast of Denver in the Great Plains . It was promoted to city on September 22, 1887 and is now the county seat of Washington County . In 2010 the place had 1702 inhabitants.

The county's most populous settlement is at the intersection of US Highway 34 and Colorado State Highway 63 . The geographical coordinates of the intersection are 40 ° 10 '  N , 103 ° 13'  W .

Demographics
