Akshita Gorti (born November 8, 2002 in Westwood , New Jersey ) is an American chess player .

For sharing first place at the US U10 Girls' Championship in Tarrytown (New York) in June 2011, she was awarded the title of Women's Candidate Master (WCM), for her third place at the North American U18 Championship for Women’s Youth in Toronto in August 2013 the title of FIDE Women's Champion (WFM). Since September 2015 she has held the title of International Women's Champion (WIM). She achieved the standards for this at a standards tournament in May 2015 in Manchester (New Hampshire) , at the 24th Chicago Open ten days later in Wheeling (Illinois) and in August 2015 at the US Masters in Greensboro (North Carolina) . Akshita Gorti has also had the FIDE master title (FM) since 2015. At the Queen City standards tournament in Manchester (NH) in March 2017, she achieved a standard to receive the title of Women's Grand Master (WGM)

Her first appearance for the US women's national team was at the World Team Championship in Khanty-Mansiysk in June 2017. There she played on the reserve board.

In July 2017, at the age of 14 , she won the US U20 championship for women in St. Louis with seven points from nine games.

Her Elo rating is 2242 (as of March 2020), her highest to date was 2326 in August 2018.
