The Aktion gegen Arbeitsunrecht eV (spelling: aktion ./. Arbeitsunrecht ) is a non-profit association based in Cologne that campaigns for the rights of wage-dependent employees and works councils in Germany who are affected by union busting and wage dumping and wage robbery . The association was founded on January 18, 2014 on the initiative of the publicists Werner Rügemer and Elmar Wigand and the campaigner Jessica Reisner . It had around 300 members in July 2017.

The Action against Labor Injustice carries out research, public relations and campaign work, training and advice. It makes political and legal demands for the protection of works councils and advises journalists, works councils, trade unions, parliamentary groups and political parties.

Campaigns

Black Friday - Now it's striking 13!

The association has proclaimed Friday the 13th , which occurs one to three times a year, to be the resistance day of the working population and has been organizing actions against companies that have come under criticism due to conflicting working relationships since March 13, 2015. The aim is to defend labor rights and internal democracy.

Addressees of the campaign Black Friday - Now it's striking 13! were the plastic cup manufacturer Neupack and its major customers Milram and Lidl , the textile discounter KiK , Toys R Us , the rehab group Median , the fashion chain H&M ., the bicycle delivery service Deliveroo and the supermarket chain Real .

The campaign against labor injustice was able to initiate protests in around 20 German cities and on Friday, October 13, 2017, its day of action against H&M received a lot of media coverage. The share price of the Swedish textile chain collapsed after the day of action.

Cleaning women power

With the campaign PutzfrauenPower , the campaign against labor injustice supports cleaning workers who have been exploited by subcontractors and cheated out of their wages. Cases of the cleaning company Zingsheim Hotel-Service GmbH (ZHS) at the Hotel InterContinental Düsseldorf and the subcontractor Malta Clean & Service GmbH (MCS) at the St. Anna Hospital of the Maltese in Duisburg-Huckingen attracted public attention .

Research & training

The founding of the association goes back to research by Werner Rügemer and Elmar Wigand on behalf of the Otto Brenner Foundation , which led to the publication of the workbook Union Busting in Germany and the book Die Fertigmacher in 2014 . Since then, the authors have been training and advising works councils and trade unionists in strategic conflict management in cooperation with other association members.

financing

The association is financed by donations and sponsoring memberships. The Black Friday campaigns - it's striking 13! and PutzfrauenPower are funded by the Movement Foundation.

Awards

The campaign against labor injustice received the jury's taz Panter Prize, endowed with € 5,000, in September 2017 . She was nominated for the German Engagement Award 2018.
