He lives in Vienna , he grew up in Istanbul and Vienna. He gained fame in Germany through his participation in well-known TV formats such as the finals of Talent Awards such as Nightwash in 2018 and the finale of the Quatsch Comedy Talent Factory, in which he took 2nd place.

His oriental roots play a big role in his performances, in which he also talks about the difficult times in his life.

Life

Aladdin Gedik Jameel was born in 1991 in Kirkuk during the Gulf War . After half his family, including his father, were murdered by the Iraqi regime, he spent the first four years of his life in Iraq with his single mother, sister, grandmother and uncle. In 1995 he emigrated with his family to Istanbul, where they lived for six years. Through his stepfather at the time, Jameel received Turkish citizenship and the surname Gedik.

Jameel went to school in Istanbul and was briefly in a Beşiktaş football academy .

In 1999 the family fled to Vienna for the first time, but after three months they were deported and had to return to Istanbul. Two years and several court hearings later, he finally managed to escape back to Vienna, where he has lived since then.

On arrival in Vienna, Jameel completed the fourth grade of elementary school and learned the German language in one year. Due to legal requirements, he was not allowed to be graded and then switched directly to secondary school. While he stood out in Istanbul for his excellent academic performance, resignation quickly spread in Vienna. Drug sales and brawls were now part of everyday life.

Jameel was kicked out of some schools and began an apprenticeship as a communications engineer when he was 16. He tried out various jobs, including as a construction worker, electrical fitter, hotel service employee, doorman, party photographer, call center employee and educator in a kindergarten.

Unemployment, depressive moods and boredom drove him at the age of 25 to change his life. Family members and friends forced him to make his first comedy appearance at an open mic in Vienna in 2017 . Jameel discovered his love for stand-up comedy and gave his life a new perspective.

Driven by his love of stand-up comedy, Jameel appeared on Open Mics up to four times a week and quickly started hosting his own shows. His hard work was quickly rewarded with increasing audience numbers and invitations to German mix shows. After only a year he began to appear on stages in Berlin and successfully compete in competitions such as Nightwash and the Quatsch Comedy Talent Factory. He was eventually invited by comedian Benaissa Lamroubal to join him on his tour.

With his solo program Generation 2000 , he will tour Germany, Austria and Switzerland in 2021.
