Benaissa Lamroubal (2016)

Benaissa Lamroubal , born as Benaissa El Ghali (born August 20, 1979 in Nador , Morocco ), is a comedian of the comedy ensemble RebellComedy , former rapper and responsible for the implementation and realization of the comedy show RebellComedy.

Career

Benaissa Lamroubal began his career as a rapper and producer in the 1990s. He first achieved fame with the song "Set Language", a trilingual song in which he raps in his mother tongue, Tamazight, among other things. Collaborations with well-known names such as Afrob , Farid Bang , Hassan Annouri , Choukri Gustmann and Prodycem followed .

Although his songs already contained a lot of humor and puns, he didn't get his first experience with stand-up comedy until 2007 when he came across Babak Ghassim and Usama Elyas . The two Aacheners launched an appeal in the hip-hop media that was looking for a comedian with a hip-hop background. This comedian was supposed to host a TV show called "Fladenbrot". Benaissa won the casting, but there was no TV station that wanted to bring the format onto television.

Therefore, the three of them started a new format called RebellComedy and organized independent shows in Aachen, Düsseldorf and Cologne. These shows were hosted by Benaissa Lamroubal. RebellComedy made a small name for itself through YouTube, but it was still not very successful. Benaissa only achieved nationwide fame when he took part in the RTL Comedy Grand Prix alongside Chris Tall and Luke Mockridge . This was followed by TV appearances at the Quatsch Comedy Club , TV Total , the establishment and Germany-wide tours with Nightwash and the 1Live Comedy lecture hall.

In 2014, the first own TV format appeared with RebellComedy. Benaissa was nominated for the Prix Pantheon in 2015 and won several prizes for stand-up comedy (including the NDR Comedy Contest and the Stuttgart Comedy Clash). He was also awarded the Diwan Award and an honorary award from the Oriental du Rire Festival in Morocco. Benaissa Lamroubal is also touring successfully as a solo artist with the programs "Be Nicer" and "Benaissance" through Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
