Alaid Island is the northwesternmost island of the Semichi Islands , a subgroup of the Near Islands in the extreme west of the Alëuten in Alaska . The highest point on the island, at 204 m, is also the highest point in the Semichi Islands. There is also a weather station on the island.
In Alaid Iceland and the adjacent Nizki Iceland hatch about 1000 pairs of Aleutian Canada goose ( Branta hutchinsii leucopareia ), a subspecies of the dwarf Canada goose .
