Alain Borner

Alain Borner (born May 10, 1932 in Geneva ; † August 1, 2019 , entitled to live in Versoix and Hägendorf ) was a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

biography

Borner attended commercial schools in Zurich , Geneva and Lausanne . From 1959 to 1977 he was an executive at DuPont and has worked as a freelance management consultant since 1985 .

In 1954 he joined the FDP and chaired and restructured the Geneva cantonal party from 1975 to 1977. From 1973 to 1977 and from 1985 to 1987 he was on the Grand Council of the Canton of Geneva . In between he was Geneva State Councilor from 1977 to 1985 and headed the Department of Economics and Military. During his term of office, he created the cantonal employment office and the positions of representatives for energy and economy.

From 1979 to 1987 he was a member of the Swissair Board of Directors as a delegate for the Canton of Geneva. He also had a seat on the board of directors as President of the Geneva Tourist Office from 1990 to 1994, and from 1991 he was President of the Standing Committee of the International Conference on Civil Aviation (Air Forum).
