Alain Gagnol

Alain Gagnol (born May 13, 1967 in Roanne , France) is a French film director , screenwriter and writer .

Life

Alain Gagnol was born in Roanne in 1967. Since he originally wanted to be a comic artist , he completed an apprenticeship at the Émile-Cohl School in Lyon . However, since his results did not live up to his expectations, he turned around and became a writer and screenwriter. Gagnol has been working for the production company Folimage since 1988 . There, in cooperation with Jean-Loup Felicioli, his short films and A Cat in Paris were made .

Awards

Gagnol was nominated for his animated film A Cat in Paris for César 2011 in the category “Best Animated Film”, and on January 24, 2012, he was nominated for the Oscar 2012 in the category “ Best Animated Feature Film ”. The same film was also nominated for Best Animated Film at the 2011 European Film Awards.
