Alain Pichard

Alain Pichard (* 1955 in Saint-Maurice VS ) is a Swiss teacher , trade unionist ( VPOD ) and local politician ( glp ).

Life

Pichard grew in Bex and Basel and worked as a bookseller before it on the second chance science teacher was. Pichard was initially a union ( VPOD ) and first as a member of the Swiss Labor Party , then the Swiss Green Party, active in education policy.

In 2006 he published a controversial article about integration problems at Biel secondary schools in Weltwoche , whereupon he switched to the Green Liberal Party . From 2009 to 2016 he was a member of the city ​​council of Biel / Bienne for the Green Liberal Party . He is a prominent recipient of Thilo Sarrazin's ideas and advocates the idea that Muslim parents' lack of willingness to integrate means that their children are less successful in school. He regularly appears in public on the subject.

In December 2013 the Bern teachers Pichard and Andreas Aebi launched the memorandum “550 against 550” for a revision of the 550-page curriculum 21 , which was signed by over 600 teachers after a few days.

In 2015 and 2016, Pichard issued four editions with a total of 13,500 copies of the brochure Einspruch! to give 33 left and left-liberal critics of the curriculum 21 from politics, educational research, culture and school practice a public voice.

Pichard is a regular guest author on the Axis of the Good .
