Alain Weill (born April 6, 1961 in Strasbourg ) is a French manager and entrepreneur in the media and mobile communications industry .

Career

Weill earned a degree in economics and an MBA from HEC in Paris . His first professional position was in 1985 at the private radio broadcaster NRJ , after which he became CEO of Quarare, a subsidiary of the service provider Sodexo . In 1990 he returned to the media industry, initially as assistant to the management and later as CEO of the RTL Group . In this role he took over from BFM in 2002 and launched the business broadcaster BFM TV in 2005.

As a multiple functionary, he also sat on the supervisory boards of the mobile communications company SFR , telecommunications company Iliad and initially headed the operational business of the Internet service provider Altice Europe as COO and later as CEO .
