Alan Hinkes
Alan Hinkes , OBE (born April 26, 1954 ) is an English climber from Northallerton in North Yorkshire. He was an Honorary Fellowship from the University of Sunderland in 1999 . He was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of York in 2007. Hinkes claims to be the first British climber to climb all 14 eight-thousanders . His ascent of Cho Oyu is not recognized.
