Alan Ogg
Raymond Alan Ogg (born July 5, 1967 - November 1, 2009 ) was an American basketball player .
Life
Ogg, who was 2.18 meters tall and was born in Lancaster , Ohio , grew up with his grandparents in Alabama from the age of 14 . He played basketball at Gardendale High School in the village of Mount Olive . From 1986 to 1990, the Ogg used on the inside position belonged to the team of the University of Alabama at Birmingham in the first NCAA division. In his final game year 1989/90 he came to averages of 10.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per encounter. He made the leap into the NBA and played in the North American professional league until 1993. From 1990 to 1992 he came on 74 missions for the Miami Heat , but remained just as supplementary player as in his stations in the 1992/93 season with the Milwaukee Bucks and the Washington Bullets .
In the 1993/94 season he came in the US league Continental Basketball Association (CBA) on 35 appearances for the Columbus Horizon team (6.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.8 blocks / game), played in the same season he briefly also for the CBA teams Hartford Hellcats and the Rochester Renegades. In the 1994/95 season, Ogg reinforced the Mexico Aztecas (also CBA) and achieved averages of 5.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per use.
He went to Germany, where he strengthened the team of the Bundesliga club TTL Universa Bamberg for a few weeks in the 1995/96 game year and scored 5.5 points per match. Further stations abroad followed in China , Colombia , the Philippines , Puerto Rico and Paraguay . He finished his career as a professional basketball player in 2001. He worked for a construction company in Alabama, and in 2003 he had to undergo heart surgery.
Ogg died of a bacterial infection.
