Alan Mark Voskuil (born September 10, 1986 in Mobile, Alabama ) is an American - Danish basketball player .

career

Voskuil's mother, Helle, is Danish, and his American father, David, was a player-coach at Horsens BC in Denmark from 1976 to 1978.

He played basketball at LD Bell High School in the US state of Texas and between 2005 and 2009 at Texas Tech University (first NCAA division). Voskuil already proved his strength in throwing from a distance and made 203 three-point throws over the course of four years with a success rate of 44.1 percent. His best season in the Texas Tech college team colors was his last (2008-09) when he averaged 13.8 points and 4.1 rebounds.

His first stop as a professional basketball player was the Spanish first division club Baloncesto Fuenlabrada in 2009, but he switched to the Spanish third division club Bulevar de Avila in December 2009 without having previously played for Fuenlabrada. After a short engagement in 2011 with the Halifax Rainmen in the Canadian league PBL, Voskuil moved to the Danish first division club Horsens IC in January 2011 . His achievements there (18.7 points, 3.7 rebounds / game) and in particular his accuracy in throwing from distance let the Turkish second division club Bornova Belediye become aware of him, who committed Voskuil in April 2011 for the remainder of the 2010/11 season.

For the 2011/12 season he accepted an offer from the Italian second division basket Piacenza and again showed his quality in attack with an average of 18.8 per match. In the 2012/13 season he played eleven games (6.1 points / game) for the French first division club Chorale Roanne Basket , but could not convince the team officials, in December 2012 it came to a separation. After another guest appearance in the second Turkish league, Voskuil returns to Italy, where he again showed himself to be a strong player in the following years as a player in different teams. In March 2014 he made a name for himself when he hit twelve three-point throws in 19 attempts in a league game for Angelico Biella . His time in Italy was interrupted by a commitment to the Belgian first division club Antwerp Giants , which ended after around two months in the 2016/17 season. In the 2011/12 and 2014/15 seasons, Voskuil was named European Player of the Year in the Italian second division by the basketball news provider eurobasket.com .

After the end of the 2018/19 season, he left Italy, in November 2019 Voskuil was signed by the Danish first division club Randers Cimbria .

National team

In 2007 Voskuil was appointed to the Danish national team and in later years took part in the selection, among other things, in European Championship qualifiers.
