Alban Edward Quinn

Alban Edward Quinn OCarm (born June 14, 1924 in Toronto , † September 15, 2010 in Lima ) was a Canadian religious and apostolic administrator of Sicuani .

Life

Alban Quinn was the son of Edward Quinn and Lillian Quinn nee. Wilson. He attended St. Thomas Aquinas Parish School in his hometown and entered the Carmelite novitiate after graduation . He was ordained in 1949. The following year he was sent to a new Carmelite Mission in Lima, where he worked in the parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. He stayed there for the next 20 years in various functions.

Pope Paul VI appointed him on July 12, 1971 Apostolic Administrator of Sicuani . He resigned from this office in July 1999. During this time he developed numerous programs that offered protection and care for the poor and sick, as well as the construction of churches and schools and a seminary. In 1993 he received the Peruvian Human Rights Award for his work.
