Alban Janson

Alban Janson (* 1948 ) is a German architect , architectural theorist , university professor , draftsman and painter .

Life

Alban Janson initially studied architecture at the Technical University of Darmstadt and the University of Karlsruhe . A two-year planning activity in Dar es Salaam ( Tanzania ) followed the scientific collaboration in university teaching . With a study of fine art 1981-1984 at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main, Janson struck the path to free artistic activity. At the same time, he founded the architecture firm Janson & Wolfrum together with Sophie Wolfrum in 1989 . After a professorship for design theory at the Stuttgart University of Technology from 1984-1994, Janson headed the Institute for Fundamentals of Design at the University of Karlsruhe (now KIT) from 1994 and until 2013 the chair for Fundamentals of Architecture there. Since 2013 he has been working as a draftsman and painter with a studio in Munich.
