The Albatros Al 101 (factory designation L 101) was a two-seat training aircraft from the Albatros Flugzeugwerke .
history
In 1930, the Albatros Flugzeugwerke design office designed the L 101, which was given the RLM designation Al 101 around 1931 . When Focke-Wulf took over the Albatros works in 1932, the Al 101 was continued to be built, as new orders for this good-natured training aircraft were repeatedly received.
Before the bankruptcy, Albatros built four aircraft (W. No. 10180, 10183-10185), Focke-Wulf seven (W. No. 141-147) from an order from 1932 and 83 for an RLM order (W. No. 183–250, 281–295), so that a total of 94 aircraft were built.
construction
The two-seater Al 101 was a stripped high-wing aircraft. Compared to its predecessors, it received two main innovations: the supporting structure consisted entirely of a metal framework and the high-decker arrangement was chosen for safety reasons . In addition, the wings could be folded back to save space. The engines available were the Argus As 8 (Al 101), the Cirrus "Hermes" (Al 101 A) and the Argus As 8 a (Al 101 C and D).
